I really do! But I'm getting really tired of having them home all day. And since we don't have a whole lot planned for this summer, things are getting a little out of control.
Just recently Caleb locked Alyssa in the bathroom downstairs. I usually don't have any problems unlocking the doors, Roman and I are prepared for situations like that. Right above the door seal we have little "tools" that will help us just in case something like this happens. However, this time I could not find the little "key"... And the lock that we put downstairs is different from the locks upstairs, so I couldn't use the other keys.
I put Caleb in time out after yelling at him. He stayed in time out until I was done getting Alyssa out of the bathroom. I tried different things to open that door, but nothing really worked. Meanwhile, I could hear the water in the toilet splashing all around and I could also hear her flushing the toilet every now and then. I think she was having a good time...
There was only one thing left to do... I had to take the lock apart. It really isn't as hard as it sounds, it just took me a little while. I think she was in the bathroom for about 15 minutes. When I finally opened the door, she had toilet water up to her elbows. There was water splashed all around the toilet, but the toilet seat and cover were down.
I cleaned her up and started to get the kids' lunch ready. I thought I would clean the bathroom while they were eating. Well... Once I lifted the toilet seat up I found out a ton of tissues in the toilet. I looked at the tissue box and it was empty. It was brand new, I bought it the day before. I had to take all the tissues out because I knew it was going to plug the toilet if I didn't. But I found out after cleaning everything up that the toilet was already plugged.
The worse part is that we don't know where that key is...
I really do love my kids... Just get a little frustrated every once in a while...

I think sometimes having kids is more eventful than going to the circus! Especially since it lasts a lot longer too. :)
